Women on Board of Local Development
Reconciliation of Work and Family Life, 2006-2008
Women on Board (WoB) was a gender equality project within the Women Network, initiated and administrated by the Eurochambre in Brussels. The Åland Chamber of Commerce was engaged in the project Working Group 2 (WG2). This working group worked for better reconciliation of work and family life. Other members of the same group were the national Chambers of Commerce of Italy, Ireland and Romania. The project lasted until last of February 2008. The project and the working groups are introduced below.
In the frame of the present project, there were three different working groups tackeling three areas of concern that prevent women from being fully included in the economic environment:
WG1 - Women in economic decision-making (Women on Chamber Boards)
WG2 - The reconciliation of work and family life - by "Linking Local Actors"
WG3 - Access to finance for female start-up entrepreneurs
